Chapter 13

ME=TOTALLY HAVE WRITER'S BLOCK. I have no idea why I can picture everything in my head..I just can't put it in words. But I needed to get a chapter, so I really apologize for the shortness AND the lack of quality of it.

Here's the catch though: There's been a story buzzing around my head. I had to sit in an airport for seven hours waiting for my cousin's flight to get in and I couldn't stop thinking about this. I finally decided that even though it's crazy to start a fourth story, I just had to. So here it is: http://memoriesworthalifetime.blogspot.com/ . PLEASE check it out and please tell people about it :) Hope every one had a great Thanksgiving!

The whole night I was on edge. I know Brent, so I know that he never gives up. He would stay out there the whole night trying to get his way in. That’s why I panicked when I heard the garage door open and footsteps. I looked around the basement and my eyes wondered upon a Wayne Gretzky autographed stick. Sorry Wayne, but personal safety was more important than any autograph. I crept upstairs and flung the door open. To my shock, some one was already standing in the doorway. I screamed and went to swing at the guy, but he grabbed onto my wrists tightly.

“Kylie! What the hell?” Jordan yelled. Oops. “I always thought you didn’t like me, but not enough to take me out.”

I laughed softly, “I thought you were some one else.” I froze. I can’t believe I just said that.

“Who di-“ Jordan began to ask before Sidney came running around the corner. “What the hell Jordan?! Get your hands off of her!” He barked. Jordan laughed and dropped my wrists. “Hey, don’t yell at me. She was the one that tried to kill me.”

Sidney looked at both of us before shaking his head. “I don’t even want to know.” He then spotted the hockey stick on the floor. “Kylie! I told you to never touch this!” He cradled it softly. “It’s one of a kind.”

I rolled my eyes. “I’m not three. I know how to touch a hockey stick without breaking it.”

Sid ran downstairs and came back up. “Let’s go, every one is in the kitchen.” I followed Jordan and Sidney to see Max, Flower, and Vero standing around in our kitchen eating our food.

“MINI C!” Flower yelled holding out his fist.

I laughed before pounding his fist. “Daisy!” Vero gave me a hug and I slowly crept forward to stand next to Max. Max put his arm around me and squeezed my shoulder. Sidney now stood across from us glaring. Max noticed this and faked a stretch, lifting his arm off of me, and shoved it in his pocket. I glared right back at Sidney and wrapped my arm around Max’s waist before sticking my tongue out at him.

Flower laughed. “You two are so funny to be around.”

Sidney rolled his eyes. “No, it’s just Ky being extremely childish.”

Jordan’s POV

==========

I hated his hands all over her. It’s not that I like her, I just feel overly protective of her. And I have no idea why because I’m a man, so I don’t get all “in tune with my feelings.” What I know was driving me crazy was Heather. She broke up me and now she won’t leave me alone. I let out a loud groan when she sent another rather pathetic text. They all looked at me curiously. “Heather won’t leave me alone.” I explained.

“Why? Didn’t she break up with you?” Vero asked.

“That’s what I thought to.” I grumbled. I noticed from the corner of my eye that Kylie was fidgeting.

“Dude, I’m sorry. I know how she wrecked you up.” Flower said.

I shook my head and laughed. “It’s nothing a few beers can’t fix.”

“Amen to that.” Sid stated before getting out five beers and passing them around.

“Um, hello.” Kylie stated.

Sidney grinned. “You’re under twenty-one Ky. Too bad for you.”

She threw her hands up in the air. “So! We are standing in your kitchen! No one cares!”

Sid smirked. “Maybe you’re boyfriend will get you one.” I laughed along with every one, it was sure a good way to get revenge.

Chapter 12

Seeing Brent made my heart race. The most pathetic part was that it wasn’t because of being afraid, it was because of how close I was with Brent. His looks and his presence still made me tingle. Even after all he did to me.

“Here’s coffee. Just the way you like it. Not from Tim Horton’s, but from this place called Dunkin Donuts.” Brent said and handed it to me. His hand accidently brushed mine and my skin became on fire this time. Now I remembered why I was terrified of him. What he did to me was horrible, it has changed me forever. I’ll never be able forgive him or fully trust boys again. I dropped the cup of coffee as if it were poison.

He sighed at me and bent over to pick it up. “Is that really necessary?” Brent asked irritably.” He then shoved it back into my hand. “Drink it.” He ordered. I immediately pushed the cup against my lips, it did taste exactly how I liked it.

“See.” He smirked. “I do know you.”

“You don’t me anymore!” I spat out with so much vehemence that it even surprised me.

Brent glared at me and stepped closer to me, brushing his hand against my cheek. “I know that this is making your heart race.” He murmured in my ear. He was right, this was making my heart race. But because I was acutely aware no one was home and there were no neighbors for miles. I shoved him away. “Get the hell away from me or I’ll call the police.” I bluffed. I was too afraid to tell the police after the rape, there was no way that I could call them just for him showing up. But he really didn’t need to know that.

He shook his head laughing. “You can’t do that baby.” I locked the door behind me, but kept the key in my hand. I was gripping it so tightly that it was cutting my middle finger. “Don’t call me baby, you lost that right.” I hissed.

Brent grabbed my wrists tightly. “Look Kylie, you know we both wanted it last night. But you went all physco and told your parents I raped you. You had a few drinks last night, you didn’t know what you were talking about. And for the hitting, yea, I’m sorry. I did some classes and I’m over that now.”

I looked at his hands, his nails digging into my wrists so hard that it was breaking my skin. “You’re obviously over the abuse part.” I said sarcastically.

He sighed exaggeratedly before letting go. “So over-dramatic.”

I took the chance and took several steps away from him. “I’m going to school now. Get the hell away from me Brent and leave me alone.”

Brent shook his head slowly and a slow smile showed on his face. Instead of looking friendly, it looks menacing. “Don’t worry, you’ll be seeing me plenty.”

I speed walked away, resisting the urge to look over my shoulder. I ran my hand through my hair, hating the way he made me so afraid. The warm tears splashed onto my cheeks. I hate how he makes me feel this way. He can rip right through my protective shell and go right into my heart. This doesn’t even make sense. I went to Pittsburgh to get away from Brent, but now he’s even stalking me here. I suppose this is what happens when I try and run away from my problems. I got to the school in record time, terrified that Brent would be right behind me.

“Heyyy girlie!” Lana shouted putting her arm around me. Damn it, some people are so perky in the morning. I tried to give her a convincing smile, hoping she wouldn’t realize how shaken up I was. Luckily, she was occupied with the guy that I realized was next to her.

“Kylie, this is Connor. Connor, this is Kylie. Connor’s my nerdy best friend who gets straight A’s so the school decided he could go onto some travel around the world program for the first marking period. But now he’s back!” She said gleefully, clapping her hands.

Connor rolled his eyes. “I am not a nerd because I get good grades Lane.” He explained patiently before looking at me. “Hey Kylie, nice to meet you.”

I smiled. “Same. And don’t worry, I’m a “nerd” too.”

Lana pretended to grimaced. “Aw man, I’m stuck with a bunch of nerds!”

The rest of the day I did everything it took not to think about Brent. I couldn’t think about him, or I would go absolutely crazy. I walked home from school fast again this time. I flung the door open and locked it quickly. I walked around the whole house checking all of the windows, making sure they are locked. I walked down into the basement and watched tv for the whole night, the only room in the house without windows. My cell phone vibrated and I saw that it was a text from Brent: “Baby, why aren’t you letting me in.” Oh my god. Sidney was playing in Columbus tonight, it’s going to be a long time until he gets home. I think I might be sick.

Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Kylie’s POV

I walked back outside the locker room with the Talbot jersey in my hands. I was thankful Max was sitting up in the box, not with Vero and me.

“I knew you would end up taking it.” Vero said smirking. But that’s the thing, I just couldn’t take it. It was too early and too soon. I barely knew Max, he honestly shouldn’t have done it. I can’t just disappoint him like that, after I gave him that hope. I decided to put it on underneath Sidney’s jersey. That way it wouldn’t be official since people couldn’t see it, but I could say a part of him was with me. The scary thing is, I also couldn’t help but remember Jordan’s gaze on me. It was so intense with his piercing blue eyes. But I heard he could be a player too. Plus, aren’t I Max’s girlfriend? No, I’m not his girlfriend. Not yet anyway.

Vero studied me, “I’ve never seen you this quiet before Ky. What’s on your mind? You’re completely zoned out.” She said snapping her fingers in front of me.

I jumped slightly, startled by her voice. To my amazement, we were already down at the seats. “Just…boy problems.” I said awkwardly. I felt so stupid talking to Vero about this. We are best friends, even though she is eight years older than me. Age normally doesn’t matter, we are both too mature to worry about that. But I hate talking to an adult in a serious relationship about my “boy problems.” It makes me sound like a love struck seventeen year old. Which I am…but that’s beside the point.

Vero is so understanding though. She cared about me way too much. “Tell me.” She said while staring at the ice, even though Marc-Andre was playing tonight.

I played with my hands. “ I don’t know, I can just tell that Sidney hates it that I’m showing some interest in Max. And I just hear Max has just such a bad track record. I just got out of a bad relationship, I don’t think I could physically handle a bad one again.” I explained, feeling oddly embarrassed.

She turned in her seat to look at me fully. “Kylie, I know Max has a bad track record. And I’m not going to lie, he is a manwhore. He does sleep around, he does go through girl after girl. But he is one of Marc and mine’s closest friend. I know him. He can really be sensitive underneath all that “superstar” shell. You just have to know him. I’m not saying he’s a sensitive guy who cries while laughing Titanic, but he’s not a complete jackass.” Vero said sincerely.

I laughed trying to lighten up the situation, “Way to bring up Titanic, V. I sob every time I watch that movie.”

She laughed also. “Same! Marc-Andre never gets why I do it. He makes fun of me!” She joked before turning serious again. “But be careful, he does make a lot of mistakes.” She warned.

I nodded my head. “Let’s just forget about it and enjoy the game.”

+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+

There really wasn’t too much to enjoy about that game. The Penguins lost 3-0 to the Coyotes, taking way too many penalties. What are we, the Flyers now? I could tell that Veronique was secretly pleased that Marc wasn’t playing, that way he wouldn’t be in a terrible mood. I groaned thinking of the mood Sid would be in. He had an okay game, taking a few stupid penalties. I trudged down to the locker room and sat outside the hallway for about an hour, he had to do some post-game interviews. I texted Charlotte and some other friends from home before I decided it was time to put up with him. I pushed the door open hesitantly. Even though Max didn’t play because of his shoulder, he was still there with the team.

“You’re not wearing my jersey.” Max said, I could tell he was trying to keep the hurt out of his voice.

I pulled up Sidney’s jersey, so he could see his. “Yes I am.” I told him with a hint of pride.

Sid threw his bag over his shoulder breezing by us. “Let’s go Kylie, we don’t have time for your little fuck buddy tonight.” He snapped. Jesus Christ.

Jordan spoke up, “Daryl, I don’t think you should take the loss out on her, it was our fault we were playing like crap.”

Sidney glowered at Jordan. “I can talk to my sister however I want. It doesn’t even fucking matter to you anyway, she obviously doesn’t anything to do with you.”

“Sidney, leave it. Let’s just go.” I interjected. He glared at me also, but walked out. I followed him like a lost puppy to Jim and got in. The whole car ride was dead silent. I was honestly too afraid to say anything to set him off. He parked Jim and slammed the front door before locking it. He shuffled off to the basement. No doubt was he going to spend all night obsessing over the little details of the game even though he should be getting a good night sleep for tomorrow night’s game. I rubbed my temples and sighed, this couldn’t be how it was going to be for each loss. Because let’s face it, they are going to lose a lot. Even the best hockey team in the world loses a lot in an eighty something game season. I went to bed, it was going to be a long Monday tomorrow.

Next Morning

I got up the next morning and just threw on a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt and did the normal morning stuff. To my surprise when I got downstairs, Sidney wasn’t home and a note was on the counter. I knew he had an away game in Philadelphia tonight, but I expected him to stay around long enough to at least talk to me. I read the note.

Ky-

I’m sorry I was such a jackass last night, you didn’t deserve it. So, I’m on a road trip and I’ll be back in around six days. Rules: No parties and absolutely NO boys. Max is traveling with the team. You’re going over to Mario’s house tonight for dinner. I left directions next to this since you have no common sense when it comes to directions apparently. I left enough money to get you through this weeks groceries and anything else you need in the top drawer. The key to Jim is next to that also. I swear to god if there’s one scratch…Anyway, I love you and I’ll call you before the game tonight. Expect a call every night from Mom and Dad.

         -Sid

I snorted, he was such a coward that he couldn’t face me. The doorbell rang and I looked at it in surprise. Lana hadn’t told me she was coming this morning. I shrugged, Lana could be very forgetful. I jogged into the hallway and threw open the door. It wasn’t Lana.

He shoved a cup of coffee into my hand before cheerfully saying. “Here, just the way you like it. I figured I could walk you to school today. What’s wrong with you? It looks like you just saw a ghost or something.” Brent.

Chapter 10

I am so sorry for the lack of updates and how short they are. Soccer has been crazy. PLEASE, PLEASE comment. Love you <3

Chapter 10

Kylie’s POV

Shit. Was I seriously that stupid? What the hell do I do? The only thought that popped into my mind was this. “It’s not his jacket!” I cringed, wow that was pretty pathetic.

His face soured and he got up and strode over to my and yanked the jacket off my shoulder. His hand groped into one of the pockets and pulled out a picture before throwing it into my face. “How do you fucking explain this then, Kylie?” He said vehemently. The photo was Max and two men, I presume his brothers because they look exactly like him, holding the Stanley Cup. It was obvious I couldn’t get out of this one.

“Sid..I’m so sorry. It was just an innocent date, nothing happened. I swear!” I said desperately.

He paced around the room. “How could you do this shit Kylie? I SPECIFICALLY told you not to date him. Max is EIGHT, do you hear me? EIGHT years older then you!” Sidney spat out.

I shrunk back, I’ve never seen him like this. “It wasn’t anything, I promise. I just wanted to get to know him.” I tried to explain.

“Oh yes, you just wanted to know him after you two almost had sex on the dance floor.” Sidney said harshly.

Okay, this tactic obviously wasn’t working. Onto number two: crying. Sid can’t stand when girls cry.

I dabbed the corner of my eyes, forcing tears to come out. “I’m so sorry Siddy, I was so stupid.” I whispered making my voice break.

He automatically softened, but not completely. “Where did he take you? Tell me it wasn’t Diesel.” He asked, almost pleadingly.

I shook my head, relieved also. I know Max is a player. “No, it was some fancy place with a beautiful view.” I gushed.

Sidney rubbed the back of his neck, closing his eyes slightly. “Just be careful and don’t let it get serious. Now sit down on the couch.” He orded.

I sat down on the couch automatically. “Why?”

“Um, we need to talk.” He said sheepishly.

“No.”

“Yes.”

No.”

“I’m sorry, yes.”

“Nooo!” I begged leaping up. He grabbed my wrist and pinned me back down to the couch. “I swear to god Kylie, if you try and move I’ll get a rope and tie you down.” He hissed.

I put my head in my hands. This wasn’t going to be fun.

“Okay, so you know safe sex is important.” He said turning beet red.

I put my hands over my ears. “NA NA NA NA NAAA I’M NOT LISTENING NA NA NA NAAA.” I sang desperately.

He gave me the Look and I stopped immediately.

Sid coughed uncomfortably. “So your not on any um birth control, so you need a condom. Plus, for um..diseases.” He muttered uncomfortably.

I looked at the ground. “Yes, yes I know.”

He crossed his arms uncomfortably around his body. “So putting the condom on correctly is very important. It needs to be small enough that it doesn’t slide, but big enough that the se-“

“YES I KNOW!” I yelled cutting him off.

Sidney jumped up. “I have an idea, I could show you on a banana.”

“NO I HAVE TO TAKE HEALTH IN SCHOOL FOR A REASON.” I yelled. Right then the phone rang and he looked at me before going to go get it.

“SAY MY THANKS TO WHOEVER IS CALLING!” I yelled before escaping up to my room.

Next Morning

Sidney’s POV

I sat at the kitchen the next morning, still feeling awkward from last night’s “talk” with Kylie last night. Never.Again. Next time, I am so just calling Mom. She walked down stretching, but stopped suddenly when she saw me.

I laughed and held out a cup of her coffee. “I offer peace.” Kylie crept forward cautiously and sniffed the cup before snatching it out of my hands.

“Just checking.” She clarified.  I rolled my eyes. “So you coming to the game tonight?”

Kylie faked a yawn. “I dunno, it’s a Sunday night and I might be real tired for school the next morning.”

I snickered. “I’ll give you a note to be late.”

Her face brightened. “Got it!”

Locker room before Game

Ky came into the locker room with me and hung out hesitantly around my stall, I think she was nervous about seeing Max. Jordan kept staring over at her, trying to make eye contact. Damn it, he better not like her or another guy to beat up.

Max came in late as normal. “Hey, hey fellas. Superstar here!” And then he saw Kylie and came over and gave her a soft kiss on the cheek. I growled at him. Like literally, how an animal would growl. Max just snorted at me before turning back to face Kylie.

“I got you something.” He told her and handed her a bag.

Ky opened it hesitantly. “Oh, a..Talbot jersey.” She said. I smirked, she didn’t seem to excited.

“I thought you could wear it!” He said excitedly. I looked over at Jordan, he looked like he was going to break something. Every one was quiet now. God, since when did our locker room become a freaking soap opera?

She stared at her Converse. “Um, well, I’m sorry Max. But wearing your jersey would make it seem like you were branding me and like..I’m not that into that. I also always wear my brother’s jersey.” Kylie said trailing off. A whistle went around the room and a few laughs broke up.

Max stared at his hands before a fake smile filling his face. “You’re right, it’s way too early.” He lied.

Ky nodded, “I’m just gonna go meet Vero..” She said before walking towards the door. She suddenly spun on her heel and stalked toward him.

“Bastard.” She said before grabbing the jersey out of his hand and walking out of the locker room, not saying anything else. Max let a wide smile spread across his face. Damn it. He won Round 1.

Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Kylie’s POV

I woke up the next morning with a killer headache, and for a moment I forgot why. Then the events of last night flashed back, even though most of them were blurry. I remember drinking, probably drinking one too many because I was stressed out about Brent. Max Talbot was there flirting with me the whole time and even though he’s almost nine years older than me, he’s still pretty hot. By the time “I’m in Miami Bitch” I was totally trashed and was acting like a bitch too. I let things go way to far with Max. I groaned when an image of Sidney popping Max in the jaw came into my head. And then one of Jordan punching him. But wait, why would Jordan punch him. I shook my head, I must be confused because of how much I drank. That’s all I remember before waking up now in my bed, hung over. At least I was in my own bed with my clothes on, that was certainly an improvement. I padded downstairs to go get some Advil. I thanked god that it was raining, meaning soccer try outs were cancelled for today. On the chalkboard all Sid had wrote was “working out.” I cringed, he was pretty pissed off at me. I dumped the coffee Sidney had left in the coffee pot, he drank it plain black and that absolutely disguited me. I had to be French Vanilla with cream, two and a half sugars, and a Splenda. It’s barely even coffee by the time I’m finished with it. While brewing, I began to think about Brent. Should I call the cops? But that was stupid, it wasn’t like  I had a restraining order put on thing and so far he hadn’t done anything…yet. And I never had put in a report about what he did. If he comes near me again, I’ll tell Sidney. I jumped out of my trance when my phone began buzzing in my pocket. I opened it without even looking at the caller I.D.

“Kylie?” A voice asked. Max.

“Um, yes Max?” I asked hesitantly. I knew Max was a womanizer, but I was nervous about what he thought of me after last night.

“I’m so sorry about what happened last night. It should have never happened. We were both drunk, but there’s no excuse for what I did.” He rambled.

I sighed in relief. “Oh Max, I was so worry you thought I was a slut. I just drank too much and you know how people get when they are drunk. I’m so sorry also.” I said in a rush.

He laughed nervously, “Not great first night out, eh? How about we just forget about it.”

I pumped fist excitedly. “Yes, that sounds great!” I agreed.

“But um, you seem like a great girl, I was wondering if you would want to go out to dinner tonight? So we could really get to know each other.” I could hear the nerves in his voice.

“Yes!” I agreed without hesitating.

“That’s great Kylie. I’ll pick you up at 7:30?” He said warmly.

I replied, “Yea, but just wait at the end of the driveway please.”

“Sidney?” He asked darkly.

“Yes. Bye Max.” I said before hanging up.

+=+=+=+=+=+=+

Sidney was still mad at me when he got home, so he went right into the den and ignored me for the rest of the day. At around 6:30, I began getting ready for my date. I decided to dress in a black halter dress ( http://www.splendicity.com/prettybynature/files/2008/01/bamboo-halter-dress.jpg ) and a pair of silver, strappy heels (http://www.splendicity.com/files/101/2008/03/meena-prom-shoe.jpg ). I put my hair up in a loose bun and walked downstairs carefully, trying not to fall. I went to the den and stood hesitantly outside the doorway.

“Why are you so dressed up?” Sidney asked me.

“Um, because I’m going on a date.” I tried to say casually.

He grunted and sat up. “With who?” He asked.

“No one you would know. I’ll be back by 10:30.” I said, feeling bad for lying.

“No, ten.” He told me.

“Ten is way to early.10:30!” I fought back.

“Ten.”

“Fine, 10:15?” I said angrily.

He stared at me. “10:15 sharp..or I’m grounding you!” He exclaimed. I rolled my eyes before walking back upstairs. I looked outside the front window and sure enough Max was parked at the end of the driveway.’

By the time I was done walking down the driveway, I was beginning to regret my decision of telling him to pick me up at the end. My feet were killing me in the heels. I got into the car and he smiled broadly at me.

“You look beautiful!” He told me.

I looked down at my feet and blushed. “Thank you Max, you look quite handsome too.”

We chit chatted casually the whole car ride there. He finally parked and quickly got out of his side and came over and opened my door.

“Wow Talbot, such a gentleman.” I said smirking, but accepting his hand and getting out carefully. Hey, I wasn’t taking any chances in these heels. I saw the name of the restaurant, “Bella Vista Continental Restaurant.” We walked inside and he went up to the hostess.

“Talbot.” He said quietly. The hostess’s head immediately snapped up, and she smiled at him. “Let me show you your table.” She said smiling the whole time and leading us back to a semi private table in the back, right next to the glass. For the first time, I looked out the glass table. I gasped and could feel my jaw drop. Outside was a stunning view of the city of the Pittsburgh. I could see everything lit up and all of the different bridges. My favorite was the large yellow one that went over the rivers. Wow, I really needed to study my geography of Pittsburgh.

Max smiled at me, “It’s probably my favorite view of the whole city.” He told me.

Then our waitress came over, she was a very bubbly girl. “Hi, my name is Carla. What can I get you to drink?” Carla asked, but I noticed that she was staring at him the whole time.

He grinned at Carla, “Me and my friend here want a bottle of Pinot Noir, please.” He told her.

“Oh.” She looked over and sneered at me, “Are you of age?”

“Of course she is.” Max said smoothly. The smile returned on her face and she disappeared.

Max winked at me, “I’m letting you drink, try not to get drunk this time.” He said laughing.

I shook my head but giggled also. “I’ll try to restrain myself.” Carla returned to us quickly with the bottle of wine in an ice bucket.

“Now what can I get you to eat?” She asked giggling.

Max snapped the menu shut and handed it to her. “Two steaks please.” Carla nodded disappointedly, she obviously wanted to talk to him more. As soon as she left, I stuck my tongue out at him. “What makes you think I wanted a steak?” I asked. Not telling him that that was what I was actually going to order.

“You just seemed like a steak kind of girl.” He said grinning at me. I shook my head and toasted a glass of wine with him. We spent the whole date talking about what it was like growing up in Canada and playing hockey. We always skirted around the subject of Sidney. At the end of the date, Max pulled out his credit card.

“No, I have some money from chores.” I said pulling some bills out of my purse. He glared at me. “No, the man always pays for the first date. It doesn’t matter if I was a poor high school kid or a rich hockey player, I’m paying.” He said in such a stern voice that I was almost afraid to argue with. Once we got outside of the restaurant, I realized how cold it had gotten. I shivered involuntarily and Max looked at me concerned. “Are you okay Ky?” He asked.

I let out a short laugh before wrapping my arms around myself. “Yes, I’m fine. Just regretting the decision that I didn’t bring a jacket. It was stupid, I mean it’s October.”

He quickly slipped off his jacket and wrapped it around my shoulders. It was huge on me, but I smiled at the kind gesture and wrapped it around my tighter. The car ride home flew by, we were having a great conversation the whole time.

He parked halfway through the driveway this time and Max faced me. “Thank you so much for coming Kylie, I had a great time.” He told me.

I smiled, “It was great also, thank you so much for dinner. Next time we go out, it’ll be on me.” I said.

He smirked at me, “Already talking about next time?” He asked.

I blushed, “Sorry.”

He reached towards my face and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. “Don’t be, I was thinking the same thing. I’ll call you. But I want to give you this.” Max announced before reaching into the back and pulling out a single red rose and giving it to me.

I gasped and carefully took it from him. “Thank you so much, it’s beautiful.”

We kept the promise of moving slowly by he just gave me a quick peck on the cheek before driving away. I twirled down the driveway laughing, I had a great time. I walked into the house. I must have looked like an idiot, with a huge smile on my face, a jacket twice my size, and clutching onto a rose. To my surprise, Sidney was sitting on the couch in the family room.

“Are you sure it wasn’t any one I know?” He asked sourly.

“Um…no.” I said nervously

“Then why are you wearing Max’s jacket?” Sid asked angrily.

Chapter 7

I am so sorry I haven't updated in a while! School and soccer has been crazy, and because of that I haven't gotten home until 9 at night, and I still have to take a shower and do homework. I'm also sorry that this chapter is rushed, but I have to get up at 5 to go the Penn State game tomorrow. So excited!! WE ARE PENN STATE! and the penguin tickets go n sale in a week!!!

Chapter 7

Kylie’s POV

“Couldn’t you call some one and just ask them for directions?” Lana asked while she was eyeing the men working at the construction before us.

“That’s the problem, no service at all.” I told her, tapping my fingers trying to think of a way to get out of this. “But we could drive around until we get to a place with service…” I said trailing off before we both heard a car pull up besides us. It was Brent.

I saw Lana take in his blonde hair and stunning blue eyes and the lips that made you just want to kiss him so bad. He winked at me before saying, “Hey ladies, you look lost. Need any help?” He asked.

“Lana, roll up the windows, lock the doors, and drive away now.” I ordered panicky while trying to keep my breathing normal, no way in hell I was going to be that girl who had a panic attack once away.

“But..” Lana said still staring at him.

“I’m serious. Now, please.” I said my voice much for firm this time. She looked at me confused before pulling Jim into reverse and then started driving around neighborhoods. Now my mind was starting to reel, how did that happen? He must haven obviously followed me, Pittsburgh is way to big of a city to just run into each other. I felt the note in my pocket from earlier today, it definitely wasn’t a coincidence. But how did he know where Sid lived? How long has he been to Pittsburgh? My vision began to spin, so I took deep breaths and closed my eyes.

“Kylie, are you okay? Why did you panic so much when that guy asked if we needed any help?” Lana asked me confused.

“He was just some one that I never want to see again.” I told her and left her at that, I really didn’t anyone knowing about what happened with Brent.

She bit her lip, staring anxiously at me. “Okay….but I think we should just pull over and ring a doorbell and ask for directions. It’s 7:30, so your brother won’t pick up the phone.

“But…what happens if they are a really old person that hates their doorbell being rung?” I asked.

“Well, you’re related to Sidney Crosby, they will bow to your feet for you.” She said simply before parking and cutting the engine. Fearless like she is, she got out and then pulled me out before marching up to the door. She rang the doorbell and a middle aged, balding man answered it. I could hear the Penguins game going on in the background.

“Yes ladies?” He asked while craning his neck to try and see some of the game.

Lana flashed him a smile. “I was wondering if you could give us some directions to Mellon Arena, you know where the Penguins play?”

He stared at us. “How could you not know where the Penguins play! Ten year season ticket holder. But I had to sell tonight’s tickets because we have to send my oldest son to college…” He said grumbling.

He then looked at me suspiciously, “Do you go to school with my son? You look darn familiar.” He asked.

I am now being compared to my 22 year old brother. Joy to the freaking world. I plastered a smile on, “I don’t think so, I’m new to Pittsburgh.” I explained.

He let out a hearty laugh before disappearing into another room and then coming back with a piece of paper and handed it to Lana. “You two young ladies just follow these and you’ll be fine. Have a fun time at the game!” He told us.

Lana smiled at him again before shaking his hand and thanking him.

“See, that wasn’t that bad!” She told me.

I just shook my head.

The whole game I was on the edge of my seat, not because of the exciting game, but because I was thinking about Brent the whole time. Me being the paranoid person I am, I kept feeling like some one was watching me. I hate it, I got away to Pittsburgh so I could avoid him, and now he has followed me here. The Penguins came out victorious after a hard fought game and Lana pulled out her phone. “Oh shit Kylie! I have to go I totally forgot I was supposed to baby-sit my brother! I’m so sorry, thank you so much for the game!” She yelled before hugging me and running out. I sighed and waited awhile before pushing the locker room door open to where most of the guys were.

I went over to Sidney’s stall and bit my lip. “Sid..I have something I need to tell you..” I stared to say, but Kris Letang’s voice cut me off.

“Yo guys! VIP lounge at Diesel tonight!” He yelled. Sidney must have forgotten that I said that because he hooted with the rest of the guys.

We all piled into Sid’s Range Rover and drove to Diesel. At the entrance, a bouncer was asking for I.D’s.

Sid ran his hand through his hair when he realized this. “Oh shit guys..I’ll go him with her.” He said.

But to his amazement, I pulled out my fake I.D. I got back home and showed it to the bouncer. He shrugged, but let me in with the rest of the guys.

Sidney stared at me. “My sweet little sister has a fake I.D.! Oh my god, Mom and Dad will kill me if they found out I was taking you to a club.” He began to worry.

I shrugged, not really in the festive mood. “Whatever, I would be drinking in a few months back home.

The whole night Max was sitting next to me at the bar and we danced. I had a couple of drinks, not enough to get me completely trashed, but I was definitely buzzed. That’s probably why when one of my favorite songs, “I’m In Miami Bitch” by LMAO came on, I jumped up to dance. “I love this song!” I squeled.

Max chuckled and yelled. “Same!” He grabbed my arm and he pulled me out onto the dance floor. I let my hair out of my pony tail and started dancing pretty crazy. Max and I got closer and closer, and eventually I could smell the alcohal in my breath. Eventually, we started grinding each other. I looked over once and saw Sidney looking pretty pissed off, but I laughed out loud. What was he going to do? At the end of the song, Max spun my around and kissed me. It certainly wasn’t an innocent kiss. Our tongues battled for possession and I felt him slide his hands onto my hips and I ran my fingers through his hair. That’s when he got sent flying back form some one.
